Chocolate Chip Brownie

I have been baking for a while now and have tried several brownie recipes. Cakey, fudgy, chewey, cracked top, not so cracked top, basically most types. And then I came across this recipe by Martha Stewart. It is the most amazing brownie I have ever made and eaten. It is out and out a chocolate delight. With a deep chocolate colour, it is fudgy, chewey, with a cracked top, all in one.
If you like baking and like me have been looking for a perfect brownie recipe then like mine your search will also end here.

Ingredients:

Semi sweet Chocolate - 200 gm
Butter - 100 gm
Flour - 1 cup
Unsweetened Cocoa powder - 1/4 cup
Castor Sugar - 1 1/4 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Eggs - 3
Chocolate Chips - 1 cup

Method:

1. Line a 9*9 inch baking tin with parchment paper. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
2. Melt the chocolate and butter in a bowl over a double boiler or a microwave oven.
2. Once the chocolate has melted, set it aside to cool.
3. In another bowl, add flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder and whisk till it mixes. Add the chocolate chips and mix.
4. Once the chocolate and butter mixture has cooled, add the sugar in it and whisk well using a whisk.
5. Crack in the eggs one at a time and whisk them well. The more you whisk the eggs the better the cracked top will be. It’s tedious but it’s worth the effort.
6.  Add the dry ingredients in the chocolate and egg mixture and mix them using a spatula. Don’t over mix the batter.
7. Pour the batter in the prepared tin and smoothen the top with the back of a spoon.
8. Bake at 180 degrees for 50 mins. When you check with a toothpick some crumbs should stick to it. That’s when it’s done.
